It was saved from destruction in the 19th century & is now a UNESCO World heritage site. Within the narrow streets are a variety of museums, restaurants, shops, cafes & other activities. Also not to miss is the Basilica church of Sainte Nazaire, and the Chateau Contal built in the twelfth century on Roman Remains.
